This West Bend 84496 6-Quart Programmable slow cooker is an ideal cooker and one of the best slow cookers I have seen so far.
Firstly it has 2 cooking modes to choose from – the simple and the programmable. If you are making pot roast, soup or stew, all you need is to dump all the ingredients inside, choose temperature and it will do everything for you. Great isn’t it? You will come back to a ready meal.

Hi, I know I haven’t find the time to blog for a while. Well, I think these slow cooker tips might come in handy when you are just get started using slow cooker. I hope this will help you to cook better and easier.
Liquid
When you are using slow cooker to cook, one thing that I notice is slow cooker cooking doesn’t lose as much moisture as compare to other conventional cooking methods. So don’t add more liquid to the slow cooker then the recipes required.
Amount of Foods
Besides that, most of the slow cooker cooking recipes times are in approximations. If you add more foods in the cooker, you might need longer time to cook.
Slow Cooker Tips – Summary
Well, if you keep these 2 tips in mind while cooking by following some of the slow cooker recipes book, I’m sure you will quickly find yourselves cooking a delicious slow cooker meal in no time. It’s durable and great for 1-3 people cooking. Design for small family and student ( 1.5 quart ). It’s have 3 setting – high, low, and warm and very easy to use. Dishwasher safe and come with a nice glass lid that allow you to see what is cook inside.

This is another chicken slow cooker recipe, every easy to do:)
Ingredients To Prepare
- 3 lb whole chicken
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 onions, sliced
- 2 celery stalks with leaves,
- 1 ts basil
- 2 ts salt
- 1/2 ts black pepper
- 1/2 c chicken broth or wine
Step By Step Instructions
- Put carrots, onions, and celery in bottom of slow cooker.
- Add whole chicken.
- Top with salt, pepper, liquid. Sprinkle basil over top.
- Cover and cook until done-low 8 to 10 hours. (High 3 to 4 hours, using 1 cup water).
- Remove chicken and vegetables with spatula.
Note: * I would suggest thawing chicken before cooking in the slow cooker for sure — I don’t think it would be safe to let it go from frozen to cooked over such a long period of time.
